Hyperbaric oxygen after stroke clot removal study

Acute Ischemic Stroke

Treatments studied

Part of Brain & nervous system, Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial tests if hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) can help people recover better after having a stroke caused by a large clot in the front part of the brain. It is for people who recently had a clot removal procedure and have some remaining disability but are still awake and aware.

Testing a new technique after clot removal for stroke

This trial tests if a special technique called 'ischemic post-conditioning' can improve recovery after a large vessel stroke. It is for people who have had a major blockage in a brain artery that was successfully opened with a clot retrieval procedure.

Balloon post-treatment after clot removal in stroke

This trial tests whether a special balloon treatment started after successful clot removal can improve recovery after an acute stroke. It may help some people by protecting the brain during the procedure and early aftermath.

Hibernation-like therapy for stroke recovery after clot removal

This trial tests if a hibernation-like therapy can improve recovery after a stroke caused by a large blood clot in the brain. It is for people who are having a stroke and are scheduled for a procedure to remove the clot.

Testing a recovery technique after stroke clot removal

This trial tests whether a special blood-flow technique applied right after removing a clot from your brain artery can help you recover better from stroke. You would receive this treatment during your clot-removal procedure if you qualify.

Clot removal after 24 hours for stroke patients
