Who can take part
- You are believed to have active giant cell arteritis and are being quickly evaluated for it.
- You are healthy and willing to be a match for comparison, OR you are a patient with suspected GCA.
- You can have a biopsy of a small artery from your temple done within a few hours of joining the study.
- You are not currently being treated for an active infection like tuberculosis, HIV, or hepatitis.
- You have not taken immune-suppressing drugs or steroids (except low-dose steroids) in the recent weeks or months.
- You do not have a serious ongoing health issue like active cancer, kidney failure, or advanced heart/lung disease.
