Who can take part
- Your child is under 10 years old and weighs at least 3 kg (about 6.6 pounds).
- Your child has been diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB) of the lungs or lymph nodes, and the doctor plans to use standard TB medications.
- Blood test results must be within certain safe ranges (liver, kidney, and blood cell counts).
- If your child has HIV, they must be on or able to start a specific HIV medication (dolutegravir).
- Girls who have started their period must have a negative pregnancy test and agree to use non-hormonal birth control if needed.
- Your child has not been treated for TB for more than 10 days recently, and does not have drug-resistant TB.
