Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have tuberculosis (TB) in your lungs, confirmed by a lab test.
  • Your TB bacteria are resistant to the drug rifampicin but still sensitive to isoniazid (or you can't take rifampicin/rifabutin for medical reasons).
  • Your TB bacteria are sensitive to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones.
  • You are willing to come to the clinic for follow-up visits and take your medications as directed.
  • If you are a woman of childbearing age, you agree to use effective birth control during treatment.
