Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia

Who can take part

  • You have severe leg artery disease (chronic limb-threatening ischemia) causing pain at rest, non-healing sores, or gangrene.
  • The blockages are in the arteries below the knee (infra-popliteal) and are caused by atherosclerosis (plaque buildup).
  • You have a healthy vein (like the saphenous vein) that can be used for the bypass graft, based on a vein mapping test.
  • There is a suitable artery in the lower leg (between knee and ankle) to connect the bypass to.
  • You are willing to follow the study plan, attend follow-up visits, and give written consent.
