Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Your heart failure is class 4 (very severe) and hasn't gotten better with medicines.
  • Your heart's pumping strength is 35% or less (ejection fraction).
  • You need either a heart-lung machine, IV heart drugs, or have signs of shock.
  • You must agree to use birth control if you could become pregnant.
