Who can take part

  • You have oral squamous cell carcinoma that has been confirmed by a biopsy.
  • You have not had any previous treatment for this cancer.
  • Your cancer is stage IVB (meaning it has spread to nearby tissues or lymph nodes, but not to distant organs).
  • You are generally active and able to do light work (ECOG score 0 or 1).
  • Your blood counts, liver, and kidney function are within certain limits (your doctor will check these).
