Who can take part

  • Your child has been diagnosed with a severe form of epilepsy that starts in early infancy (like infantile spasms or a type that doesn't respond to medicine).
  • Your child's seizures have not been controlled by at least two different epilepsy medications.
  • Your child is between 0 and 23 months old (under 2 years) at the start of the study.
  • You and your family are willing to be part of the research.
  • Your child has NOT had a brain injury from lack of oxygen, infection, trauma, or stroke.
