Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have pneumonia that requires a hospital stay (either caught in the community or while in the hospital).
- You have at least one heart condition (like atrial fibrillation, past heart attack, heart failure, valve disease, or past heart muscle inflammation) OR a high risk of heart disease based on a score (SCORE2 ≥ 7.5-15%).
- You do not have severe heart failure, end-stage kidney disease, severe liver disease, active cancer, or a recent heart attack or heart procedure (within 3 months).
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you could become pregnant, you agree to use effective birth control during the study.
