Who can take part

  • Had a hospital stay for severe valve disease fixed with a catheter-based procedure
  • Have chronic heart failure with reduced pumping strength
  • Before leaving the hospital, must have a specific heart stress marker above 900 pg/mL, blood pressure at least 100 mmHg, heart rate at least 60 bpm, and potassium level 5.0 or less
  • Were on low doses of standard heart failure medicines at the time of admission
  • Live in the Lombardy region of Italy
  • Be between 18 and 85 years old and willing to participate
