Head-down position to improve blood flow in stroke

Who can take part

  • You have a clot in the main branch of the middle cerebral artery (the large artery on the side of your brain).
  • You are scheduled to have a procedure to remove the clot (mechanical thrombectomy).
  • You are awake and alert (not unconscious or confused).
  • You do not have glaucoma, history of high pressure inside the skull, or severe breathing or heart problems.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or less.
