Who can take part

  • Your child is between 3 and 10 years old, or has a certain bone maturity score (Risser 0 or Sanders 1-4).
  • The spine curve is more than 30 degrees (Cobb angle).
  • The upper spine (chest area) is shorter than 22 centimeters from top to bottom.
  • There is a risk that the chest is not growing well enough to support breathing (thoracic insufficiency syndrome).
  • Your child has not had spine surgery before.
