Who can take part

  • You had a stroke for the first time (not a repeat stroke) and it's been at least 3 weeks since it happened.
  • You have trouble swallowing, confirmed by a special X-ray swallowing test (called VFSS).
  • You are 19 years or older.
  • You do not have metal in your head, a pacemaker, cochlear implant, or other conditions like Parkinson's, dementia, recent seizures, or active depression.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy during the study.
  • You have not used a similar brain stimulation device or been in a related study in the past year.

This trial tests whether combining two types of brain stimulation (iTBS and NMES) can improve swallowing problems after a stroke. If you have had trouble swallowing for at least two weeks but no longer than six months after your stroke, you may be able to join.
