Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 80 years old.
  • You have a slow-growing type of thyroid cancer called papillary thyroid cancer, confirmed by a biopsy.
  • Your tumor is 2 centimeters (about 0.8 inches) or smaller.
  • The cancer has not spread outside the thyroid, to lymph nodes, or other parts of the body.
  • You have not had neck radiation, thyroid surgery, or a bleeding disorder, and you are generally healthy (no serious heart, lung, liver, or kidney problems, and no vocal cord issues on the opposite side).
