Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and cannot have or do not want surgery.
  • You have a thyroid nodule proven to be benign (non-cancerous) that causes symptoms like pressure or trouble swallowing, or you have a nodule that looks suspicious but not clearly cancerous, or a small thyroid cancer that has not spread, or a small recurrence of thyroid cancer.
  • You are scheduled to have an ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation for your thyroid condition.
  • You are willing and able to give written permission to take part in the study.
