Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have a small (2 cm or smaller) papillary thyroid cancer confirmed by biopsy.
  • The cancer has not spread outside the thyroid or to lymph nodes or other organs.
  • You have no other aggressive types of thyroid cancer.
  • You have no history of neck radiation, bleeding disorders, or serious heart, lung, liver, or kidney problems.
  • Your vocal cords on the opposite side of the tumor are functioning normally.
