Who can take part

  • You had surgery for an aortic aneurysm or an aortic dissection (sudden tear) at the University Hospital Basel.
  • Your surgery happened in 2015 or later.
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You do not have a known genetic condition like Marfan syndrome, Turner syndrome, Loeys-Dietz syndrome, or Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
  • You are willing and able to give your permission (informed consent) to be in the study.
