Physical Self-Regulation vs Placebo for Chronic Jaw Pain

Who can take part

  • You must have been diagnosed with chronic pain in the jaw muscles (the muscles used for chewing).
  • You need to be 18 years or older.
  • You must be able to speak and write in English.
  • You must be a patient at the UK Orofacial Pain Center (UKOPC) and willing to have appointments through video calls.
  • You cannot be taking certain prescription pain medications (like some seizure drugs, steroids, muscle relaxants, or opioids) more than 2 days a week.
  • You must not have had recent mental health issues (such as psychosis, suicidal thoughts, or mania) in the last 3 months, or have a history of seizures in the last year.
