This study is screening people with smoldering multiple myeloma or a monoclonal gammopathy to see if they might have an early form of AL amyloidosis, a condition where abnormal proteins build up in organs. If you meet the criteria, you will be tested to find out if you have amyloidosis, which could help catch it early.

Who can take part
- You are 40 years old or older.
- You have been diagnosed with smoldering multiple myeloma or a monoclonal gammopathy.
- A blood test shows that the difference between two types of light chain proteins (dFLC) is greater than 23 mg/L.
- Your free light chain ratio is abnormal (unless your kidney function is low, in which case this test is not needed).
- You have not had a previous biopsy that found amyloid protein deposits.
