Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with heart failure for at least 3 months.
  • Your ejection fraction (a measure of how well your heart pumps) is 50% or higher.
  • You have either an enlarged heart or a recent hospitalization for heart failure.
  • Your NT-proBNP level (a heart stress marker) is above a certain threshold.
  • You are not taking a similar Chinese medicine and are not allergic to any of the ingredients (astragalus, salvia, black aconite).
  • You are not pregnant, nursing, or planning pregnancy during the study.
