- You have symptoms like trouble swallowing or food getting stuck, or you already have a diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis.
- You need to have an upper endoscopy (a scope down your throat) either to check for or to monitor eosinophilic esophagitis, or for another reason.
- You do not have chronic inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis), esophageal atresia, or achalasia.
