Who can take part

  • You are 21 years old or older.
  • You have had central pain after a stroke for at least 2 years, and it hasn't gotten better with other treatments.
  • Your average pain is more than 6 out of 10 (on a 0-10 scale).
  • You are willing and able to come to Oxford for pre- and post-surgery appointments.
  • You do not have any conditions that would make surgery, anesthesia, or MRI unsafe (like bleeding disorders, infections, or certain metal implants).
