Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 50 years old.
  • You are having hip arthroscopy to treat bone cysts or avascular necrosis (a condition where bone tissue dies due to lack of blood flow).
  • You do not have any blood disorders such as anemia or sickle cell disease.
  • You have never had leukemia, lymphoma, or other bone marrow-related diseases.
  • You do not have diabetes.
  • You have never had a bone marrow aspirate (a procedure that draws out bone marrow) before.
