This study tests whether adding platelet-rich plasma (a blood concentrate), platelet-poor plasma, or bone marrow concentrate during hip surgery helps people with a torn labrum recover better. If you need hip arthroscopy and haven't had prior hip surgery, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • Your doctor says you need hip arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) for a torn labrum (the cartilage ring around the hip socket).
  • You are willing to be randomly assigned to one of three treatments: platelet-rich plasma, platelet-poor plasma, or bone marrow concentrate.
  • You have not had any prior surgery on that same hip.
  • You speak English well enough to fill out the study surveys.
