Long-term drainage for fluid buildup after skull surgery

Who can take part

  • You had a surgery on one side of your skull (called a decompressive craniectomy) after a traumatic brain injury
  • You developed fluid buildup under the outer covering of your brain for the first time, and this happened within 30 days after your skull surgery
  • The fluid is only on one side of your brain (either on the same side as the surgery or the opposite side)
  • The fluid has not gone away or shrunk with non-surgical treatments, and your doctor thinks surgery is needed
  • You agree to join the study and sign a consent form
