Who can take part
- You have a recent traumatic brain injury with a clear medical history
- You are within 12 hours of the injury when you are evaluated
- Your first CT scan shows a one-sided (unilateral) acute epidural hematoma above the brain’s tentorium (supratentorial)
- Your neurosurgeon believes it should be treated with surgery to remove the blood clot
- You (or your legal representative) can consent to surgery and to join the study
