Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding around the brain) caused by a brain aneurysm that has been treated.
  • You were admitted to the hospital within the last 4 days for this condition.
  • You are currently in an intensive care unit or similar critical care setting.
  • You are not already taking steroid medications like prednisone, and you have never had an allergic reaction to fludrocortisone.
  • You do not have severe heart, liver, or kidney failure, your sodium levels in recent blood tests are not too high or too low, and you are not pregnant.
