Who can take part

  • You have leg pain or cramping when walking that gets better when you rest (called claudication).
  • A doctor has confirmed your leg pain is from blocked arteries in your legs (peripheral artery disease).
  • You are not having leg pain at rest or any open sores or dead tissue (gangrene).
  • You do not have another condition like arthritis or heart/lung disease that limits walking more than your leg pain.
  • Your blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes (if you have them) have been stable for the past 6 weeks.
