Who can take part

  • Your child must be in the pediatric or cardiac intensive care unit (ICU).
  • Your child must weigh at least 1.8 kg and be under 15 years old.
  • Your child must be on ECMO (a machine that helps the heart and lungs).
  • Your child must be receiving one of the listed antibiotics through an IV line.
  • Doctors must be able to draw blood samples from a separate line (not the one giving the antibiotic).
  • There must be no known allergy to certain antibiotics like penicillin or ciprofloxacin.
