STARLITE for hard-to-surgery high-grade brain tumors

This trial tests a new treatment called STARLITE for people with fast-growing brain tumors (high-grade gliomas) that cannot be safely removed with surgery. The treatment uses a laser to destroy the tumor from the inside. It may be a good option if you haven't had any prior treatment for this tumor.

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older
  • You have a fast-growing brain tumor (high-grade glioma) that can't be removed with surgery, or surgery would be too risky
  • You haven't had any surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation for this tumor before (a small biopsy to diagnose it is okay)
  • You are generally healthy enough for surgery, with good kidney, liver, and blood function
  • You can have an MRI with contrast dye, and you are not pregnant
