Y90 Radioembolization for Early Kidney Cancer
Part of Cancer, Kidney & urinary, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.
This trial tests a treatment called Y90 radioembolization for people with early-stage kidney cancer who cannot have surgery or ablation. Tiny radioactive beads are delivered through a catheter to the tumor's blood supply to destroy it from the inside.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You have stage T1 or T2a kidney cancer that has not spread to lymph nodes or other organs.
- You have 1 or 2 solid tumors in one kidney (at least 80% solid).
- You and your doctor have decided that surgery or heat/cold ablation is not the best option for you.
- Your kidney function is adequate (GFR 45 or higher).

This trial tests a procedure called Y-90 radioembolization for patients with kidney cancer tumors larger than 4 cm who cannot have or choose not to have surgery. The treatment delivers tiny radioactive beads through a blood vessel to the tumor to destroy cancer cells while limiting damage to healthy tissue.
This trial tests a treatment called yttrium-90 carbon microsphere radioembolization for people with liver cancer that has been previously treated. Tiny radioactive beads are delivered directly to the tumor through the blood vessels to destroy cancer cells from inside. This may be an option if your liver cancer has not spread beyond the liver and you can tolerate the procedure.
This trial tests a targeted radiation treatment (Y-90 radioembolization) given before surgery for colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. The goal is to shrink liver tumors enough to make them removable and improve the chance of a successful surgery.
This study looks at how well Y90 “radioembolization” treatment delivers radiation and how much radiation reaches your body. If you can safely get extra PET/CT scans and blood tests around your treatment, you may be invited to participate.
This trial tests a treatment called Y-90 radioembolization (SIRT) for people with liver cancer that is too large to be removed surgically. The treatment delivers tiny radioactive beads directly to the tumor through the liver's blood supply, which may shrink the tumor and improve outcomes.
This Phase 2 trial tests TheraSphere® (a Y-90 radiation treatment delivered to the liver) combined with standard systemic therapy in people with high-risk hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It aims to shrink tumors and improve outcomes for people whose liver cancer is at higher risk to worsen.
