Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- You have had at least one calcium-based kidney stone (if you are a stone former) OR you have never had a kidney stone and no one in your family has had them (if you are a healthy control).
- You do not have diabetes or borderline diabetes (impaired glucose tolerance).
- You have not taken a thiazide diuretic (a type of blood pressure medicine) before.
- You do not have a history of certain types of kidney stones (uric acid, cysteine, or struvite stones).
- You have not had bariatric surgery or an ileostomy, and you do not have primary hyperparathyroidism with high blood calcium.
