Who can take part
- You have had at least two kidney stone episodes in the last 10 years.
- Your past kidney stones were mostly calcium (at least half calcium oxalate or calcium phosphate).
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are willing to stop certain medications (e.g., other diuretics, some gout drugs, vitamin D, calcium supplements) for at least 28 days before starting.
- You do not have other causes of stones like severe eating disorders, chronic bowel disease, sarcoidosis, or primary hyperparathyroidism.
- You have reasonable kidney function (eGFR at least 30 mL/min) and no severe health conditions like heart failure or liver disease.
