  • You have high LDL ('bad') cholesterol of 160 mg/dL or higher.
  • You have very high LDL (190+) without treatment and a family history of early heart disease.
  • You have had a heart attack and are not on optimal cholesterol-lowering medication.
  • You have a close family member (parent, sibling, child) with early heart disease.
  • You have a personal history of coronary artery disease (blockages in heart arteries).
  • You have very high triglycerides (500+) or high lipoprotein(a) or high coronary calcium score.
