Who can take part

  • You are an adult who has not gone through menopause and gets regular periods (every 24 to 38 days).
  • You were recently diagnosed with a blood clot (like deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism) confirmed by an imaging test.
  • You started taking a blood thinner (anticoagulant) within the last 2 weeks.
  • You plan to take the blood thinner for at least 3 months.
  • You do not have any allergies to the study drug (tranexamic acid), kidney problems, or active bleeding other than your period.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding and do not use hormonal birth control (like the pill or IUD).
