Facial exercises with or without nerve stretches for Bell's palsy

This study tests whether adding gentle nerve exercises (neural mobilization) to standard facial exercises (mime therapy) helps people with Bell's palsy recover more movement and expression. It is for people who have had one-sided facial weakness for 3 to 6 months.

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Bell's palsy (not caused by another condition).
  • You are between 20 and 40 years old.
  • Your symptoms started 3 to 6 months ago (sub-acute stage).
  • Facial weakness is only on one side, and you can still taste food normally.
  • Your facial weakness is rated as moderate to severe (House-Brackmann grade 4 or 5).
