Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have stage III or IVa oral squamous cell carcinoma that can be removed with surgery.
  • Your tumor is measurable (at least 1 cm on a CT scan).
  • You are in generally good health (able to care for yourself, ECOG score 0 or 1).
  • Your blood counts, liver, kidney, and heart function are within acceptable limits.
  • You have not had certain prior treatments or other cancers within the past 5 years.
