  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You have acute kidney injury (sudden kidney failure).
  • You are about to start or have recently started kidney replacement therapy (dialysis) within the last 48 hours.
  • You do not have severe burns covering more than 10% of your body.
  • Your care team agrees that this study is appropriate for you.
