Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years old or older.
  • You must be in good general health (ASA class I or II).
  • You must have an electrode placed inside your hippocampus (a part of the brain).
  • You cannot have had a seizure in the last 36 hours before surgery.
  • You cannot have a history of being on a breathing machine for more than 24 hours.
  • You cannot have memory or thinking problems (cognitive impairment).
