Radiation after surgery for early-stage oral tongue cancer

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You had surgery to remove all visible oral tongue cancer
  • Your cancer was early stage (pT1-2 or pT3 by depth) with certain risk factors like lymphovascular invasion or depth between 4 and 10 mm
  • Your final surgical report shows clear margins (at least 2.2 to 3 mm, depending on growth pattern)
  • You have no more than 2 lymph nodes with cancer and no spread outside the lymph node capsule
  • You do not have any other active cancer or autoimmune disease that would interfere with radiation
