Who can take part

  • Age 18–69 years old
  • Squamous cell carcinoma (the most common type) of the mouth, surgically removed with lymph-node dissection
  • At least one side of the neck had surgery with 12+ lymph nodes removed
  • Pathology shows no cancer spread to lymph nodes (N0 or N1 stage) but has high-risk features like close/positive surgical margins or nerve/vessel involvement
  • Able to attend long-term follow-up visits and complete quality-of-life surveys in English or Hindi
  • Start radiation therapy (if needed) within 6–8 weeks of surgery
