Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 60 years old.
- You either have mild to moderate asthma (doctor-diagnosed and not poorly controlled) OR you are a healthy volunteer with no asthma history.
- You have not had a cold in the last 14 days or a chest infection in the last 28 days.
- You have not smoked or vaped in the last 6 months, and have less than a 5 pack-year history of smoking.
- You can cough up sputum (phlegm) for a sample.
- If you have asthma, you need to have normal or near-normal lung function (FEV1 at least 70% of expected) and a test showing your airways are overreactive.
