HAPH Registry: Study on lung artery pressure in high-altitude residents

High Altitude Pulmonary HypertensionSleep Apnea

Who can take part

  • You live permanently at an altitude above 2,500 meters (about 8,200 feet).
  • You are willing and able to give your written consent to participate.
  • You do not have a moderate or severe lung disease, such as COPD or serious scarring of the lungs.
  • You do not smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day or have a very heavy smoking history (more than 20 pack-years).
  • You do not have unstable high blood pressure or coronary artery disease that needed medication changes in the last 2 months.
  • You do not take medications like benzodiazepines, opioids, or acetazolamide (Diamox) that affect your breathing.
