Biofeedback gait training for stroke survivors

Who can take part

  • You have had only one stroke in your life.
  • It has been at least 6 months since your stroke.
  • You can walk, but may need some help, and you are at a level where you can walk in therapy (Functional Ambulation Category score of 3 or higher).
  • Your affected hip can extend (move backward) at least 10 degrees without help.
  • You have no major memory or thinking problems (Mini-Mental State score of 24 or higher).
  • You do not have severe tightness of your affected ankle muscles (Modified Ashworth Scale score less than 2) and the muscle strength of those muscles is not too weak (Manual Muscle Testing score greater than 1).
