Who can take part

  • You are 70 years old or younger.
  • You have had Parkinson's disease for at least 4 years.
  • You have a moderate to severe impulse control problem (like gambling, overeating, shopping, or compulsive medication use) related to your Parkinson's medication.
  • Your Parkinson's symptoms improve by at least 30% when you take your regular medication.
  • You do not have dementia or severe depression.
  • You are willing to have deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery and have no medical reasons that would make it unsafe.
