Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or less.
  • You are in good general health or have only mild health problems (ASA I or II).
  • Your surgery is expected to last less than 3 hours.
  • You do not have any allergy to ketamine or dexmedetomidine.
  • You do not have severe bleeding (hemorrhagic shock) or a history of alcohol/drug abuse.
  • You have no history of brain, nerve, or mental health conditions.
  • You do not have advanced kidney, liver, or heart problems.
