  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You are healthy or have mild health issues (classified as ASA 1 or 2)
  • You are scheduled for elective brain surgery (craniotomy)
  • You are not severely underweight or obese (BMI between 18 and 40)
  • You have no allergy to dexmedetomidine
  • You do not have a high-grade heart block or uncontrolled slow heart rhythm
