Who can take part

  • You are older than 18 years old.
  • Your Graves' disease came back after at least 18 months of taking antithyroid medication.
  • Your vocal cords move normally (no vocal cord paralysis).
  • You are not planning to have surgery and can tolerate a procedure where you are given medication to relax (sedation).
  • You do not have severe eye problems from Graves', a large goiter pressing on your windpipe, or a history of neck cancer or radiation.
