Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- You have a small thyroid cancer (less than or equal to 1 cm) that has not spread to lymph nodes or other parts of the body, and no family history of thyroid cancer or past radiation to the head or neck.
- You have already had a needle biopsy and a genetic test (88-gene panel) on your thyroid nodule.
- You are willing to choose either microwave ablation or surgery.
- Your tumor is not in the middle (isthmus) of the thyroid.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have a bleeding disorder or other health issues that would make treatment unsafe.
