Comparing microwave ablation vs. surgery for low-risk thyroid cancer

Who can take part

  • You have a small papillary thyroid cancer (≤1 cm) that is low risk.
  • Your tumor must be a single nodule (not multiple) and has not spread outside the thyroid.
  • Genetic testing results show a low-risk mutation, like BRAF V600E (without TERT mutation) or a RAS mutation.
  • You are able to attend all follow-up appointments after the procedure.
  • You do not have a history of head or neck radiation as a child, and no family history of thyroid cancer.
